Directory error when viewing Gerber file

Under some conditions, Gerber view will display an error message when you are trying to open a Gerber file for viewing.

Solution

This error occurs because the working directory of Gerber view is either write protected or does not exist.
To fix this problem, start Gerber view and go to the Preferences menu. Set the Working directory as well as the Output directory to a valid directory which does have write permission.
Once done, you are ready to load the Gerber file for viewing.
