After you've hit OK from the Layer Settings dialog the translation engine starts up and writes the DXF file to disk. To load a DXF file into AutoCAD you must be sure that you start a new drawing and that the drawing is completely empty. A common error is to use a prototype drawing that has items already defined such as layer names, blocks, title borders and the like. AutoCAD will absolutely be unable to import the DXF file if the new drawing is not completely empty. Depending on the version of AutoCAD you are running you can either:

Notice that the data is in units of MM. The package design team may want to explode the pads since each pad is actually contained inside of a block. The package designer now has the exact position and size of the chip's pads. |
