New Program for MEMs Designers: STL2GDS

For Immediate Release

Jan 25, 2005

Santa Cruz, CA - Artwork Conversion has developed a new program called GBRComp for comparing two Gerber files.

Designers often need to compare two Gerber files that may be very similar in order to verify changes that were made between revisions or to compare the process of producing these files. When the board layout is large and complex and the changes are small, it can be very difficult to identify all of the differences.

GBRComp does this very efficiently by performing an XOR (exclusive OR) operation on the two input files and produces a third Gerber file containing only differences in the layout. If the two layouts are identical this third file will be empty. Any differences will appear in the XOR file.

The difference file (XOR) can be superimposed on either of the input files to examine differences in context. GBRVU can be used to pan around from difference to difference or one can make a high resolution printout or bitmap and transmit it to others for review.

GBRComp runs on Windows NT/2000/XP computers. For details on program operation, pricing and download links visit the GBRComp WEB page
