ASM 580 is a bidirectional translator between Mentor's BoardStation and HP's EGS Archive file format. It uses the geom_asc, comp_asc and trace_asc files to translate to EGS archive and back. This is a low cost and simple way to exchange data between Boardstation and HP EEsof's microwave design layout tools: Series IV, MDS and the new ADS.

Microwave designers using HP EEsof layout tools can now transfer their layout directly to a PCB designer using BoardStation.
