GDSPLOT is a fast and easy-to-use program for making large color plots of today's complex chips. GDSPLOT handles multi-gigabyte stream files on powerful Linux machines. Because it rasterizes the data on your workstation, your plotter runs at full speed - no waiting for the plotter to convert HPGL or Postscript into its native format. Whether you design your chips with Cadence, Mentor, Avanti, Synopsis or Tanner, GDSPLOT is the ideal companion for plotting. |
The Linux version of GDSPLOT has been designed to act as a "print" server -- i.e. applications running on other machines anywhere on the network can submit a GDSII file and configuration data to the server. The server will RIP the GDSII file and send the output to the appropriate printer queue. You can use a low cost PC to offload this from your other workstations -- in fact, we have noticed very fast performance on the Intel architecture compared to RISC workstations. |
