  Dear Steve or Hagai,

I would like to evaluate your GDS2CIF program on
Windows NT (95). Please send me the unzipping
password and temporary key strings for my machine
  (hostname=tiger)

I got my MAC address by running:

     nbtstat -a tiger

GDS2CIF Files to Download

gds2cifw.zip [Ver 1.30 Sept 15, 1997 778 KByte zipped, password required]

Supporting Disks

There are also the following additional diskettes which may or may not be needed depending on whether you already installed them once on your machine. Generally on an initial installation you do need these diskettes but not on an update:

  • MFC - these include some Microsoft 32 bit DLLs to support our use of Microsoft Foundation Classes. Installed once using a:\setup. Install this prior to installing the GDS2CIF/W release diskettes.

mfc32dll.zip [775 Kbyte zipped, no password required]

  • NT Key Driver - this is a hardware key device driver for the Rainbow key that mounts on the parallel port. This diskette is not needed on Win95 since the application can talk to the key directly. If you are using hostid locking this device driver is not needed.

rainbow.zip Label: NT Key Driver Disk 1/1 [779 Kbyte, no password required]

Unzipping the diskettes

Once you have downloaded the gdsvuw.zip file unzip it into a temporary directory such as c:\temp. Each supporting diskette should also be unzipped into its own temporary directory. See an example below:

unzip mfc32dll.zip - c:\temp\mfc
unzip gds2cifw.zip - c:\temp
unzip rainbow.zip - c:\temp\rainbow

Notes on Unzipping

The supporting disks (MFC, Win32s, WinG etc...) are not password protected so will unzip with virtually any program that zips and unzips.

Many shareware and freeware zipping programs do not properly support password encrypted zip files. If you do not have an unzipping utility capable of supporting passwords we can highly recommend the Windows version of PKUNZIP. You can download an evaluation/shareware version from PKware's WEB site: www.pkware.com.

Running Setup

Following the above example you should run setup on these diskettes:
FILE - RUN c:\temp\mfc\setup.exe [install MFC dlls]
FILE - RUN c:\temp\rainbow\setup.exe [install Rainbow key driver]
FILE - RUN c:\temp\setup.exe [installs gds2cif]
