Unable to write a dup file

Introduction

The GDS2DXF and DXF2GDS on Windows may give you an error message
Unable to write a dup file

This error can occur when the config file (typically gds.cfg), is shared or the directory it is in is shared.
If the directory is read only, then the translator will not be able to save the file and will give the above error message.

Solution is to copy the config file to a read/write directory and start the translator again.
