New MTOOLS 3.0 Features

Agilent Technologies has released Series IV on Windows NT. Artwork has ported MTOOLs 3.0 to NT as part of this project. We are also upgrading the UNIX versions of MTOOLS to include new features:

Support for FIRE 9000 AutoPlot Format

AutoPlot is a an advanced variation of Gerber that runs on the Cymbolic Science's FIRE 9000 family of photoplotters and includes support for:

Even better, we will also support the POIN internal polygon area scratch - this means that you will be able to use clear polygons in your EEsof layout package and they will plot correctly - no more setting up paint and scratch layers; a feature EEsof users have been asking us to implement for years.

Improved Area Filling Routines

For those of you who still need stroked area fills, we've improved our fill routines significantly

MOTIF User Interface on UNIX

We're replacing the old hand carved X11R3 interface with the MOTIF interface. Your MTOOLs 3.0 on Unix will have the same look and feel as Series IV now.

When Will it be Available?

MTOOLs 3.0 for NT was released in August 1996. MTOOLs 3.0 for UNIX should be released by the end of November 1996.
